1. Choose a piece of blank pottery.
We stock dozens of different shapes of once-fired pottery called ‘bisque’. Functional items – e.g. plates, bowls, mugs, jugs, teapots, cups & saucers, goblets, vases, photo frames, pet bowls, tiles. And fun shapes and ornaments for children, e.g. money boxes, ornaments, dragons and fairies, dogs and cats.
2. Choose your colours
We have a great choice of specialist paint for bisque. It is water-based and non-toxic.
3. Paint your design.
You may draw your design on the pottery in felt tip pen. (Pen marks will disappear in the firing process). We have lots of stencils you can use, or you may trace designs from our ideas books. Staff will show you how to use the products we stock to get the best from your visit. We have special pen tips you can use for outlining and writing, which some people find easier than using a small brush.
4. Leave your pottery to be glazed and fired.
We will glaze and fire your finished pottery and it is ready for collection in a few days, or we can post it on to you.
5. What does it cost?
We are an ‘All Inclusive’ studio which means we do not charge you a fee for using the studio facilities, (our standard paints, brushes, stencils, sponges, templates, ideas books etc) or a fee for having your item professionally glazed and fired.
The whole cost of your visit is included in the price of the item you choose which is a fair and simple system for our customers.
Our prices range from about £6.00 to over £30, with lots of children’s items around £10.00 and our most popular, mainly functional items are in the £10 to £16 range, so you will find things to suit most budgets. We also have a ‘misfits dents and end of line’ box, often with great discounts.

6 . How long does it take?
Spend as long as you like painting. When you finish painting your item, you leave it with us to be glazed and fired. This takes about 7 days. Your receipt will show the day it will be ready for collection. If you are unable to collect we can post items throughout UK and Worldwide. Please ask for details.
7. When do I pay?
You pay at the end of your visit. We accept cash, cheques, debit & credit cards and gift vouchers. We will give you an itemised receipt. It is helpful if you bring this when you collect.
8. What about dishwasher and microwave?
Your pottery is earthenware and has a dinnerware safe glaze. We recommend that you hand wash it and do not put it in the microwave.
Please Note: Imperfections in ceramic products can occur. If the imperfection is due to product or kiln firing the customer may remake at no charge. Customers do need to follow guidelines regarding application of paints.
